Dr. Munr Kazmir Envisions Better Ties Between US AND Pak With AISS

Dr. Munr Kazmir, a prominent Pakistani born American businessman, is founder of the American International School System (AISS) in Lahore.  Dr. Kazmir's vision for the school is to promote bilateral relations between the United States and Pakistan, educate children from an early age, and empower women among many other things.

The school teaches American values and an American curriculum to its students.  The school is a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment that promotes values of acceptance of people from all diverse backgrounds.  The school has received the support of many prominent American policymakers.

Dr. Kazmir was born in Pakistan in 1957 and received M.D. from the University of Punjab.  He moved to the United States in 1984.  He has bipartisan relations with many members of the United States Congress and is an ardent supporter of democratic values and women's rights across the world.

Dr. Kazmir's vision for AISS is to replicate the model he has built in Lahore across the world and build a community of such schools.  The school in Lahore currently has 600 students and is expected to grow to full capacity enrollment of 1,200 in the next few years.  The 11.5 acre campus is one of the most state-of-the-art in Pakistan.  It is also the first Pakistani educational institution to be handicap accessible.

Over two-thirds of students at the school receive some form of financial aid.  Many prominent United States politicians such as John McCain, Joe Lieberman, and Kirsten Gillibrand have shown strong support for the school and Dr. Kazmir's vision for it.
